Description |
Cedar bark basket. All cedar bark; plaited bottom, dark-dyed; plaited and twined body; Excellent example of technique. Plaited cedar bark construction with natural bark, red and dark brown horizontal splints; self-ending rim. Extended Visual Description Round basket with graduated color decoration. The horizontal pieces graduate in color from lighter at the bottom to dark at the top. There are 5 bands of red at the bottom, 3 of brown in the middle, and 5 of darker colors at the top. The vertical pieces are all light brown, creating a kind of checkerboard effect. The rim has a plaited finish. |
