Description |
Yakama beaded bag featuring a deer head on a blue field. This bag's lining is red paisley cotton with black wool back and edging with buckskin handles. Circa 1920s. Cut and pony beads. Extended Visual Description Rectangular beaded bag with leather handles. Beaded design is on a background of blue beads and is of a deer or elk in profile, facing left. The deer is pictured only from the neck up. Two pink ears are clearly visible and the antlers have a total of 10 points (5 on each side). There is a yellow W shape just below the rack. The deer is in profile. Only one eye with an eyebrow is visible. The bag is edged in olive green felt. The backing is a navy felt. A paisley (white on red) pattern fabric lines the bag. Two leather handles are attached to the top. |
