Description |
This may be a swan's foot bag, made by Y'upik and Tlingit peoples. It may be called "Kellarvik." It was collected in Alaska-100 mi. S. of Point Barrow Whaling Station. The bag is made of multiple feet, is collapsed, and has toggles. Extended Visual Description This is a carrying bag which looks as though it is made entirely from some sort of gold brown reptile skin. The object is collapsed on itself and there are many cracks and rips. Along the bottom are animal claws which are dark brown in various locations. There is a drawstring weaved through an open hole in the center. It's made from the same material as the bag. Tied to the end of the drawstring are ivory pieces which are yellow. |
