Description |
Thompson River basket with handles. Shape- oblong basket manufactured of cedar root slats. Wide but thin coil with cedar root stitching. slat construction for bottom of basket, gradual swell out to pyramid form rectangular base. Very large (wide) imbrication in flaring diamond design using dyed and natural cherry bark with natural beargrass. Handles are missing. Extended Visual Description Object is a large rounded cornered rectangle. There is no coiled construction. It appears to be slats covered with bark strips. Designs are rust red, white and blue or black diamonds with the center points elongated and squared. Two handles are broken off and are in envelope inside basket. Basket is brown. |
