Description |
Rectangular basket. Twined body plain, twined bottom wrapped; base is western sweetgrass with beargrass wrapped twining. According to Vivian Harrison, Yakama, the animal is a dog if the tail is up (shorter), and it's a wolf if the tail is straight out or down or long over back as in basket 3-095. Extended Visual Description Object is a rectangular basket with rounded corners. Bottom is woven with a small break at back right corner. Rim is intact. Motifs are, in front, a man on right in faded purple and red, two horses or dogs in the same colors. On left end is a rooster in red, purple, and gold. Back had two horses in red with something green between them. Right end has a duck in red, purple, and gold. |
