Description |
Large berry picking basket of coiled cedar root with an oval start. This is the type of basket into which the smaller baskets were tied. About halfway down the side is a buckskin loop which was used to tie to the saddle. Basket is mended, design is worn off. Basket is of oval or flattened shape. Extended Visual Description Object is large stiffened basket. It is brown and did have designs in dark brown and white, little remains. Has leather and cord loops at rim. One leather handle loop is midway down front. Large cracks at right and left just above bottom. Holes near top of back, probably for handle. Rim has one small break. Back is flatter than other sides. |
