Description |
Small basket with lid. Extended Visual Description Small basket with lid. Oval shaped. Basket base consists of three concentric ovals of woven material with single round of openwork between each oval. Center bottom consists of strip of wider material around which the ovals are started. The sides of the basket have three thin stripes of color at the bottom, middle and near the top. The bottom and top stripes are a row of orange sandwiched between two navy rows. The center stripe is a row of alternating two "bumps" light tan and two "bumps" navy. Between the top and center and between the bottom and center there is a row of openwork. There is a taped oval of paper inside the basket meant to be a support. The lid of the basket sits inside the basket rather than on top of it. There appears to be a paper and tape reinforcement around the rim. The top of the lid is made of 5 concentric ovals, separated by ovals of openwork. One of the ovals is separated by a row of light tan and navy colorwork. The lid is misshapen. |
