Description |
Basket with a knob lid, possibly Tohono O'odham Extended Visual Description This item is a tan and brown straw basket(a) with a lid(b). It is round in shape and the rim where the lid falls in place is a smaller diameter than the base of the basket. The lid has a brown, round sphere shape used to pull the lid off the basket. The lid has two brown lines that are not perfectly straight and the lines cut the lid into thirds. If you flip the lid over there are two rims, one on the farthest edge of the basket and another rim recessed toward the center of the lid. You can see the brown lines from the perspective as well. The base of the basket is round with 3 brown diamonds outlined on it. The diamonds are not equal distance a part. Inside the basket, at the center, is a raised point where the end of the coil meets. The brown lines are also visible from looking on the inside of the base of the basket. The center of the bottom of the basket is a lighter tan than the rest of the basket. Inside the basket was a tag that read "Nootka?" on one side, and the number "32" written on the other side (but the number was crossed out with marker). |
