Description |
Berry picking basket. Made of split cedar root with beargrass cedar, root skin imbrication. There are rim loops for cross lacing (remnants). With overall design of repeat diamonds in fishnet pattern. Used for carrying or picking - has one flattened side whether made that way or may be from use - carrying could be sized for small adult on back. Mended on bottom - expertly done with split cedar root and up side (low). Internal stained with berries. Extended Visual Description Object as a large round basket. Design is vague, but looks like continuous diamonds. Color that remains is yellow. Many little holes inside and outside of bottom. Repairs at and near bottom. Bits of leather around rim, at least two loops intact. Basket is stiffened. Darker brown inside. Back is flattened and straighter than rest of basket. |
