Description |
Thompson River basket with lid. Oversize hard coiled basket with cedar root foundation and stitching. The basket has large imbricated designs on two zones of basket. These star like design alternate black and brown exterior on each of the zone. Basket has small sturdy handles on two sides of it. Lid is flat with large knob for handle. Cherry bark and beargrass are used for imbrication of designs Extended Visual Description Object is large round tan basket. Two small handles on sides. Basket made in the coiled style. Designs are starbursts made of either red/brown or black points with checkerboard pattern in center. Two rows of starbursts six on top and six on bottom. Lid in good shape. Has ridge on bottom to set into basket. Coiled knob on top with lightning designs in red/brown and black to edge of lid. Well made and in good shape. |
