Description |
Small Makah circular trinket basket with duck motif, lid missing. It has a plaited cedar bark start with sweet grass twining. Extended Visual Description Small Makah circular basket with duck motif. Bottom of basket has a square of woven bark at center, serving as an anchor around which a circular bottom of relatively thick grass was constructed. The sides are woven much more finely than the bottom. There are two rows of deep red near the bottom of the basket. Six rows about that the duck motif begins. The ducks are deep purple with a plain tan eye. There are four ducks on the basket. There is a bark rim on which the lid would rest, but the lid is absent. |
