Description |
Oval twined basket with lid. Attached cord. Was once of several colors but now faded. Lid is torn in several places. Woven of beargrass and juncus. Twined construction with twined cedar bark bottom and split warps to make finer stitches. The sides are of beargrass and once had a design in wrapped twining Has a collar that is twined-not plaited. 8 1/2" long and about 5" wide, height 5". Extended Visual Description Object is an oval, light tan basket with lid. Lid is broken at edge in several places. Lid fits over edge of basket. Outside colors are faded or broken off. Basket rim intact. Brown band below rim, line break of 4 cm below band on front. Bottom is brown slats and woven. Colors inside of vibrant, tan, yellow, purple, green and brown lines around. |
