Description |
Carrying basket/ shopping basket of cedar slat construction. Shape is used to carry but probably not for food gathering. Made in coil technique with split cedar root weavers and beaded design in natural and dyed cherry. Flat coil indicates probably Thompson River. Extended Visual Description Object is a narrow, woven basket. Basket is medium brown with four bands of red and dark brown woven in a checkerboard style. The bottom has four darker brown sections about 7cm apart around bottom. The ends are curved. Two narrow handles span the center of basket 16 cms apart. One handle has been repaired. |
