Large bag used for gathering. Northwest Coast. Bands of cedar bark - light and dark at top and bottom. Cotton carrying strap. Extended Visual Description Large bag used for gathering. The bag's surface is twined cattail that is matted, the borders of the bag are the same material braided. Along the top and bottom of the bag, there is a decorative single line weave of a dark and a light grass. The strap for this bag appears to be the same cattail twine and yarn woven in chunks. The colors of yarn on this strap includes; brown, white, pink, and yellow. NWC twinned cat tail braided edge of warps, utility. Tumpline - twinned sideways. |
