Description |
Split stitch basket, possibly Papago/Tohono O'odham. Materials used are a plastic ring, devil's claw, and raffia, dyed and natural. There is a swirling effect to the stitching. A fiber bundle of devil's claw is the foundation of the split stitch basket. Extended Visual Description Dark brown basket with light brown string that makes a whirlpool design into the middle. The middle is hollow with a small circle in the center and has a few strings attaching it to the rest of the basket. There is a row of teal string as well. |
